Talkin' Late Night Blues

Talkin' Late Night Blues
Written By: Jonny Johnson

I sit around thinkin' of the times past
How things are changing, the good things don't last
And I wonder what I'm doing up here today
Thinking I've got some thing worth your time for me to say

Something about this life
Keeps me dreamin' amorous
And time and time again that's
Been proven dangerous
But it fuels my desires
I keep saying, "Hi," starting fires

I see I'm losing friends
They're dropping fast
More like childhood bonds
Are slipping from my grasp

Families being made
Careers are pursued
The school library
Was the last sacred place
Where the worries were grand
But the cares were few

I try to stay happy, but
Somewhere in that crazy pursuit
I didn't bother to water my
Friend's plant, I let it die

When it's all said and done with
I believe I've stretched the limits of my bandwidth
I can't say I'm any better or worse off than before
And things just seem to settle as they were
