Cliches Are A-Playin'
Cliches Are A-Playin'

Hello, my good friends make claims on this state
Eyes wide open shed tears on this plate
The thief begs forgiveness and you're a dealer in fate
You thought you'd never hold what you feared and you hate
And the rain's gonna fall
Pick 'em from the wall
Writings on the stall
We seen 'em all
The senses aint betrayin'
The first in line makes the next second rate
The clichés are a-playin'
Come now defenders of the home of the brave
Announce your presence before you raid
Count the shadows upon the cave
The one who is master makes the other one slave
Ya got her on call
Your sport, your ball
No matter how small
Gettin' high from it all
The fun is a-slayin'
Feel low now and it's more that you crave
The clichés are a-playin'
Draw the horizon and capture infinity
Seek what's real and get the imaginary
Talk about patience uncover the urgency
Time grows little in the wake of emergency
Oh, the plastic doll
Sure standin' tall
Outside city hall
Got time for it all
Witnesses be prayin'
Men sort out masculinity
The clichés are a-playin'
You call it absolute and find an exception
Where's the good times without the depression
Flaws are found in search of perfection
Intention's the front for Man's deception
Ya got a lotta gall
To say ya never fall
And never been mauled
Ya figured it all
Who's really stayin'
Next time, come with a red carpet reception
The clichés are a-playin'
