Don't Rush the Landing
Written By: Jonny Johnson
Airline Pilot
Bring us down easy
We hit turbulence
Everyone’s worried
My stomach
It is floating
Out the window
Our tail is blowing
And the earth trees
Keep disappearing
Get us through it
Our hearts are pounding
Stay focused
Don’t rush the landing
In you we trust
To do the flying
Your skills surpass
Our different training
We are able
But you’re applying
We got your back
Prevent our dying
It’s on you
We are relying
So take your time
We’re calmly waiting
Our worries’ll pass
Just stick to landing
Now our life
It’s in your hands
One thing I know
You’re only human
The fear remains
After palms be shaking
What can I do
So you keep thinking?
Just how many
lights are blinking?
I’ll dry your sweat
So your eyes aren’t stinging
Take it slow
Don’t rush the landing
Passengers shoving
Where’re you going?
You got a date?
What’s your hurry?
We’re midair
Where you escaping?
Come here
No one’s crazy
Grab a broom
At least be cleaning
I’m not happy
And my head is spinning
What can we do
While the pilot’s landing
Beautiful system
You keep me guessing
I get tired
You keep me voicing
My timeline
It keeps expanding
I last longer
The more I’m speaking
And grow deaf
To my sounds of dying
So Airline Pilot…
Don’t rush the landing
