You bargain with the night to scheme the day
How is that working for you?
You're hurried with a bunch of games to play
Well, will you win or will you lose?
Best get out now, while the gettin's good
So much rain you wear another's hood
Won't you stand straight and stay put

You say you've got happy days
Your body says something new
Say you've grown out your ways
I guess I'll see if you do
Won't you see you now, spare yourself
Go show off to someone else
You've practiced your smile as your new wealth

You're scraping by with front-side deals
I know you know better than that
You got porcelain eyes,  saying nothin’s real
Great, now what'll you do with that
