I'm long with a hundred ways to say it
I'm nothing, I'm broken, I'm beat

Next to nothing's where I stand
It's zero that I keep
A sadness fills the land
A flicker each time I leap

Long live the love
The light shined through my life
It graced me from above
Brought color to my eyes

All the times I've been gone
It's your light I remembered well
When I withdrew to safety
You found me in my shell

Each time I arrive the same

Tears of joy pour down the face
She came and pulled me from the race
Gave me an easy line to trace
Made a beat and set a pace

A seismic wave
Jolts the ground at my feet
I was sound yesterday
Now I crawl and can barely see

A tremble with her touch
I was a  warrior with much to defend
Her palm pierced the veil
I fell with the hand she lent

She reached for the heart
Entering the gap in between
I caught her hand and
descended from the dream

The dogs cry from the alley
They mourn my quickening pace
I move to sudden silences

a treatment for good company

Water was pouring in

Passing pails to the crew
When she touched my neck
