In-Between Time

In-Between Time
Written By: Jonny Johnson

I’m swiping right until my heart quits pounding
Lady Luck’s sure to find her way to me
I ain’t had a kiss yet, but I been grabbing
Every mistletoe from the Bird Man's trees

The numbers on the odometer say 6-6-5
Get the smiles out now with just a mile to drive
I was bound to get here sooner or later
I can’t tell you I’m happy now it’s arrived

The sheep flock to where the pastures are green
And I play with the dust in front of me
I use the dousing stick to draw skeleton keys
One’s got to unlock the world for me

The monsters in the night, they are my friends
Granted by the rocks from on top I sleep
I’d just as soon make them enemies
If you could move this mountain from under me

The river calls for Anthony but I only see John
He was just beside me, but now he’s gone
John rolls his sleeves, puts his head under water
The river rolls him over and it keeps on moving on

The other side of traffic is speeding terrifically
And I’m bottlenecked as far as I can see
N.P.R.’s droning on the airstream
Singing a top 10 list to stop time-wasting

Bank Robbers are stealing bitcoin by the order
Then they point and call me the thief
I keep to myself alone on the road, I tell em
But I got no witness to stand for me

The gods of romance do sing to me
I found a flower blossom along the street
Nine petals and the last one said, she loves me
My heart, it floats down to Easy street
